Position: HR & Accounting Assistant
Job Overview: Under general supervision, the HR/Accounting Assistant is responsible for assisting with the daily accounting and human resources needs of the organization. These include, but are not limited to, processing accounts payable, and bank deposits, assisting with, different activities in Human Resources such as compliance, EE relations, Workers' Comp, and more.
Reports to: Human Resources Manager & Controller
Supervises: None

Qualifications/Skills:

General Skill Set:
- Prior Human Resources and Accounting experience
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to communicate in writing and orally with proper grammar in English
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of guest and employee information
- Excellent organization, negotiation, and relationship building
- Professional demeanor and a proactive self-starter
- Quick evaluation and decision making
- Can operate all office equipment (including telephone, computer, copier, calculator
- Ability to learn new software as needed
- Can interpret mathematical calculations and perform detailed data analysis
Desirable:
- Bilingual, preferably Spanish verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills
Essential Physical Abilities:
- Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
- Repetitive hand motion (typing) for extended periods of time (up to six hours of typing per day)
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, bending and stooping.
- Remain in a stationary position for a maximum of eight hours (excluding meal and rest breaks) throughout the work shift.
- Ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 20 lbs.
Work Characteristics:
- May be required to work occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays when needed.
- Must be able to work in and be able to maintain organization and a positive attitude
- Must be able to meet deadlines as required
Essential Job Functions:
Human Resources:
- Prepare new hire packets
- Audit & Maintain 1-9 files
- Maintain employee files
- Weekly maintenance of posters and current HR information
- Assist with the Employee Relations Celebrations
- Assist with Annual Open Enrollment
Accounting
- Records invoices and credit memos
- Monitors discount opportunities
- Maintains vendor relationships·
- AR reconciliation for departments daily
- Vendor statement reconciliation
- Prepares cash deposits
- Maintains change drawer and petty cash
- Scans and files AP checks
- 1099 Reporting
- Member payment application
- Incoming mail processing
- Delivers mail and packages
Others
- Perform additional duties as the need arises.
