The Accounts Receivable Specialist makes an impact by

Being responsible for effective analysis and collection of accounts receivable. This includes reconciling trade and non-trade deductions in the Trade Promotion Management System, preventing unauthorized deductions and performing post audits.

  • Oversee specific warehouse frozen and fluid accounts. Analyze and resolve deductions taken by customers with emphasis on efficiency and accuracy. Efforts for prompt turnaround include collaboration with brokers, and sales managers, verbal and written correspondence and occasional travel to customer locations. Thorough review of payment discrepancies and pursuit of collection for unauthorized short payments.
  • Monitor customer payments for specified accounts, make dunning calls, as necessary, and look for ways to improve customer/broker relations, Days Sales Outstanding, and improve working capital and cash flow according to company goals.
  • Collaborate with accounting associates working on Trade Promotion Management to reconcile TPM Agreements to ensure timely accurate reconciliation of deductions, open balances and event invoices.
  • Provide backup and coverage for Accounts Receivable associates, as required, with vacation and sick leave.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with sales managers, brokers, and customer counterparts. Able to travel to customers and broker locations as called for (overnight trips possible) to learn more about operations, people, and solving mutual concerns.
  • Work on special projects or assignments, as requested, by Accounting Management.
  • Compile remittance advice for assigned accounts as needed to assist cash application.
  • Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality.
  • Demonstrates the ability to engage work in department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.
  • Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Associates Degree in Accounting/Business or 2+ years related experience (minimum)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or 3+ years related experience (preferred)
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge
  • Previous experience working with Wal-Mart highly preferred
