GeBBS Consulting, a leader in Healthcare Technology solutions, has an immediate opening for an API Architect. This is a remote role.

Position Description:

The API Architect will take the lead in designing and implementing Apigee-based solutions, standards, and best-practices within both Cloud-based and On-Premises environments. They will use their deep experience with API strategy and Apigee product-knowledge to provide technical leadership to distributed application and integration deign as well as interface with business-unit leaders, executives, and external stakeholders as needed to drive success in Apigee-related efforts.

What You’ll Get to Do:

· Analyze and define API Evangelist requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, platform environment, software, and system interfaces.

· Contribute to conceptual and physical design of application integration using APIs and events.

· Review and approve detailed API designs produced by delivery vendors.

· Ensure the architectural integrity of API centric projects and solutions.

· Provides strategic thought on adoption and implementation of Apigee best practices within the context of the environment.

· Effectively communicate and share Apigee knowledge to support products and project teams.

· Operate equally comfortably within agile or waterfall environments.

· Work with product owners to analyze and understand enterprise business drivers to determine integration architecture requirements.

· Assist Project Managers to define and document technical scope based on customer or business needs for assigned API projects.

· Evaluate, recommend, and justify scope and direction changes during Planning/Design phases.

· Contribute to Architecture Review Committee material and decision criteria.

· Establish and document full lifecycle API management standards and best practices.

· Guide API development teams in the application of best practices with API management tools.

· Support all levels of system integration design and delivery.

· Provide conceptual, logical, and physical architecture and design to key projects.

You’ll Bring these Qualifications:

· 7-10 years of progressive experience in distributed application and integration design, culminating with leadership responsibilities implementing APIs with the Apigee product.

· 1-2 years of deep experience in API strategy formulation and alignment with business and product needs.

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

· Prior experience with Cloud-based and On-Prem Apigee solutions.

· Prior experience with Apigee Implementation, Architecture and/or development training.

· Knowledge of and experience with service-oriented architecture concepts.

· Knowledge of application design in a high-volume, high-availability environment.

· Working knowledge of service orchestration and messaging technologies. Ability to apply the long-term (big picture) perspective to tactical situations.

· Ability to evaluate information quickly, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgment, experience, and common sense.
