Edelman is seeking an Assistant Account Executive to join the Crisis & Risk team. Our team protects clients against reputational risk through around-the-clock support and counsel. The assistance ranges from assessments of a client’s vulnerabilities and preparedness capabilities to immersive crisis training to rapid response and ongoing crisis and issues management. We help companies identify threats to reputation and the bottom line, minimize risk, manage issues, and maximize reputational resilience.
We counsel clients through their toughest challenges and most complicated issues. While there’s no “typical” day in this role, we are looking for a team member who can triage, think critically, and deliver polished work product under pressure. Additionally, this role requires someone who is invigorated by challenges, complex subject matter, and thinking critically through the lens of risk mitigation.
Responsibilities:
- Research, compile, and analyze coverage of clients in the media, including social media
- Write, edit, and proofread materials including statements, Q&As, stakeholder communications, fact sheets, and client correspondence
- Support development of crisis communications playbooks, PowerPoint presentations, and research and development of content for crisis simulations
- Demonstrate general knowledge of social media management and listening tools, as well as basic principles of community management
- Participate in new business process including research and proposal preparation
- Provide client service administration support; attend meetings, handle scheduling and logistics, and provide billing support
- Commit to continuous learning through client engagements, Edelman Learning Institute, and other training and development opportunities
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
Expected competencies include:
- Understanding of key client information including business strategy, products and services, key customers/stakeholders, and competitors
- Ability to identify and track trends in traditional or social media coverage and understand how these insights help inform client strategies and recommendations
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize a variety of projects, as needed, including the flexibility to support teams and meet a variety of time-sensitive needs
Basic Qualifications:
- This is an entry-level position. Candidates should demonstrate an interest and understanding of the communications marketing industry and basic principles of integrated communications marketing
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- This Assistant Account Executive must have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively and efficiently with a variety of account service staff across a broad set of accounts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, excellent organization skills, and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines. They must have a strong work ethic and dedication to consistently provide quality work.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Experience with databases such as Lexis-Nexis, as well as the various social media monitoring tools ( Brandwatch, Cision, MuckRack) is a plus.
$40,000 - $50,000 a year
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
