NOBU, the world-renowned Japanese Restaurant, is hiring for Nobu Indian Wells. We are seeking exceptional and creative individuals who are motivated to create memorable experiences through incredible food and hospitality.


The BOH Manager is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant, property, and inventory are all well maintained. They will manage and receive incoming inventory, manage restaurant equipment and general repairs/maintenance with appropriate response and action. In addition, they will organize and support the BOH staff (porters, dishwashers, cleaners) to ensure restaurant operations run smoothly. The BOH Manager will report directly to the restaurant's General Manager.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive food, liquor, and non-food inventory.
  • Manage BOH staff; create weekly staff schedules, train, team build, administer disciplinary action, and assist with timesheet management.
  • Coordinate with Desert Champions Maintenance Supervisor for contractors and vendors on all maintenance and service projects.
  • Schedule with Desert Champions Maintenance Supervisor to implement ongoing Preventive and Maintenance tasks such as kitchen hood cleaning services and furniture maintenance.
  • Responsible for ordering and inventorying restaurant cleaning, plate ware, and disposable supplies.
  • Maintain clean and organize facilities (both front and back of house areas- including main dining room/patio, kitchen, restrooms, walk-in/dry storage areas, etc.)
  • Other duties will be assigned as needed

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Bilingual is preferred. English/Spanish

MATH ABILITY

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and provide solutions.


COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE

  • Micros POS system preferred, but not required.
  • Time clock/Mobile time clock
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, word, excel.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma/GED required; and 1-2 years’ experience working in related field.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Experience in managing staff, including hiring, disciplinary action, scheduling, team building.
  • Able to communicate effectively with vendors, management team, supervisors, and staff.
  • Must be flexible with schedule and willing to work extra hours when necessary
