This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position which includes a full range of benefits including paid time off, sick leave, holidays, employee health, dental, life, vision, disability, and an employer paid pension. Hours are generally 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., M-F.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining city facilities.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Sweeps and mops floors; vacuums carpets; strips and waxes floors; buffs floors.
• Removes trash from offices and building entrances; empties ashtrays.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms and locker rooms.
• Dusts furniture, shelves, and woodwork.
• Cleans interior & exterior glass, windows, doors, and handles.
• Maintains entry ways; sweeps and picks up debris.
• Changes light bulbs.
• Cleans and maintains break rooms; loads and unloads dishwasher.
• Cleans and sanitizes unoccupied detention areas.
• Waters and maintains potted plants around building entrance.
• Stocks hand towels and toilet paper in restrooms; replaces deodorizer.
• Responds to calls for custodial services.
• Refills supply closets; picks up supplies.
• Performs minor plumbing repairs (e.g., plunge toilets, shut off water).
• Sets up meeting rooms; cleans rooms after use; straightens tables and chairs.
• Manages cleaning dust mops, dish and dust cloths, and rags on a regular basis.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
