With a consistent record of accomplishment of overachieving growth goals, we are seeking to onboard a Business Development Associate to help foster growth within the Architect, Interior Design, and Builder Communities. As a member of the Sales Team, the Builder + Trade + Design Business Development Associate (BDA) works with Production Home Builders, Developers, Interior Designers, and the trade community to secure placement of Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove appliances in Northern California and Western Nevada residential projects. A successful BDA will be able to work independently and within a team framework depending on the project's nature. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate the value of both the brands and our distributorship are necessary in this position. This position is suited for a self-starter who is highly organized, motivated, and goal oriented. The ability to organize and coordinate meetings, product training, and regular entertainment of both active and prospective accounts is necessary for this position.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week), exempt position, reporting directly to the Northern California Sales Manager with no direct reports.

Responsibilities, Expectations, and Key Processes include but are not limited to:

Strategizing
Develop strategic approaches to gain access to key firms and individuals to educate them about the benefits of our products. Formulate a structured plan to meet or exceed sales goals. Meet our goal to have our product specified in new projects.

Networking
Research the market to identify key players within the trade community. Develop inroads with builders and developers, including principals, management, salespeople, project managers, and entire staff. Prospect and engage with architects, interior designers, kitchen designers, and the trade community.

Training
Ensure all accounts are trained and current on entire product lines, Riggs services and programs, and company history and values by conducting regular training meetings. Especially key to this training is new trade affiliates.

Communication
Constant communication between the BTTM, as the voice of the company, and the accounts is essential. Must be able to problem solve to assist with complaints from the end users, coordination with delivery and installation and site readiness as well as from the accounts the BTTM serves.

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years minimum of experience outbound sales/prospecting
  • Ability to work independently among the trade and with management
  • Possess effective communication skills
  • Desire to provide excellence in customer service throughout the entire sales experience and beyond
  • Ability to create trust-based relationships with customers
  • Strong listening and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational and time management skills are essential
  • Enjoy meeting and working with people
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proven ability and record of accomplishment prospecting into new accounts
  • Proven record of overachieving quota
  • Experience with solution-based approach to selling.
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome objections.
  • Ability to cultivate, manage and develop new business meetings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • A positive attitude and desire to grow professionally.


Bonus Points

  • University or bachelor's degree or higher in related field, or related experience
  • Experience with PowerBI and NetSuite
  • Experience working successfully within a sales organization
  • Strong desire to learn and contribute cross functionally
  • Existing relationships with Interior Design, Builder/Developer, Architect communities
  • Affiliations with NKBA, AIA, NARI, ASID, and BIA
