The Marketing & Operations (M&O) team plays an essential role translating Microsoft’s Commercial Strategy to a local execution plan and driving operational excellence to achieve the greatest results possible. The Business Program Manager (BPM) is a senior business partner that leads key decisions across the business as well as marketing planning and governance.
The BPM has responsibilities in three key areas: Business & Marketing Planning, Governance, Business Insights and Marketing Operations, as follows: The Business Program Manager (BPM) is responsible for driving business excellence and cross- Subsidiary effectiveness by creating and orchestrating processes across all business groups within a Subsidiary on behalf of the Marketing and Operations organization (M&O).
The BPM drives key decisions in overall Subsidiary-level business & marketing planning and governance, and provides business insight that enable cohesive strategic and share oriented decisions. Through measurement and metrics, the BPM provides increased transparency across all groups. The BPM provides increased integration and alignment across the business by supporting: the cross-Subsidiary planning, measurement & review of business operations & accountability, subsidiary scorecard reviews, and growth & share discussions.

Responsibilities
Supports Business Planning and Governance
- Responsible for driving orchestration within the subsidiary for process development, Marketing & Planning process tools implementation, communications, and actual driving of business orchestration & review meetings
- Works with the subsidiary to make the optimal investment decisions
- Ensures that orchestration is working smoothly across the subsidiary
- Drives the business calendar for the subsidiary across all meetings and business reviews
- Facilitates the subsidiary’s preparation for business planning activities by establishing subsidiary processes, coordinating all required pre-work, consolidating final plans, ensuring dissemination of required data, and locking in process logistics
- Maintains links with the relevant business and segment groups and marketing contacts to ensure that the subsidiary is at the forefront of orchestration thinking and development
- Ensures that business planning results in the establishment of goals guaranteeing the connection between the fiscal planning and orchestrated business planning processes
- Integrates relevant information and data into the Subsidiary planning process
Responsible for Business Insights and Facilitating Growth Discussions in the Subsidiary
- Provides relevant business insights and knowledge across the Subsidiary through Marketing Intelligence data & analysis.
- Manages the localization and implementation of Corporate- and regional-provided growth & share framework models
- Consolidates the outputs from different models and makes them available to key stakeholders at the right moments in the decision making process
- Supports translation of growth discussions and drives execution in the subsidiary
Responsible for Managing Operational Reporting
- Establishes consistency in subsidiary business & operational reporting
- Creates a review process for monitoring and reporting marketing & business performance, including adherence to budget, return on investment, and other key business and scorecard metrics.
- Coordinates with finance, systems, and non-marketing business owners to collect required data
- Delivers on the financial accountability model
- Engages with regional headquarters to understand and adhere to broader Microsoft reporting requirements
- Collects Corporate and regional benchmarks to aid in evaluation of the subsidiary’s performance, andadvises / executes on process improvements
- Understands reporting and meeting requirements by working closely with relevant stakeholders
- Operationalizes Subsidiary scorecards and ensures that the subsidiary delivers against them

Education
- 4-6 years related experience
- Experience and deep knowledge within Sales Excellence, Business Planning, Sales Operations, and/or Finance
- Executive exposure and cross-functional stakeholder management
- Focus on providing process optimization by understanding the desired business outcome
- Deliver end-to-end deep data analysis and actionable strategic insights
- History of driving operational discipline as well as innovation
Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to work and build strong relationships with senior managers (required)
- Must have proven skills in financial, marketing, and IT management
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, planning and organizational abilities
- Intermediate conflict resolution and negotiation skills (required)
- Must be able to work independently, handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and negotiate and collaborate effectively
- Must be highly analytical, able to understand business metrics, customer and market trends
Education
- Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) required and/or experience in relevant fields eg: business, marketing, information technology, operations, finance. Master's degree beneficial.
