Using the cargo capacity of United’s route network, United Cargo propels the global economy by quickly transporting their customers’ shipments to and from virtually every major market in the world.

Job overview and responsibilities

Manage United Cargo’s Specialty product development. The Product Development Manager’s role is to create, recommend and implement strategies, initiatives, and assist in product and business development. This will include understanding all product policies and procedures from a commercial side as well as a strong operational understanding. This position includes working closely with United Cargo’s marketing team on innovative programs to establish customer preference, brand loyalty and increasing revenue performance in the global marketplace. The leader will have the responsibility of aligning specialty products to all industry standards, and will work towards effectively harmonizing policies, projects, and processes across all partners to ensure a superior customer experience. This leader will also work closely with and support our Quality Assurance group for the Specialty Products team. Position will be a problem solver who will elevate specialty products to industry-leading status and deliver revenue growth.

  • Manage product revenue and revenue contribution margin targets by completing product review and recommending new features, enhancements, technology and operational compliance
  • Work effectively with interdepartmental peers including field operations, IT and sales colleagues to identify revenue opportunities and cost-reductions that will improve product profitability
  • Drive innovation and segment growth for specialty products
  • Work closely with the marketing team to manage specialty product marketing efforts which will encompass all aspects of market planning, brand marketing, creative and digital content development
  • Collaborate with calls centers, Operations, Sales, Corp Communications and other internal partners to ensure specialty product knowledge and delivery of operational excellence
  • Support product growth through policy changes and positioning product as an industry leader by working very closely with policy and procedures as well as Corp Safety teams
  • Identify needs and gain stakeholder consensus to enable resolution of service issues

Qualifications


Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in managing complex programs and products required
  • Proven project management skills and cross-functional leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation design and delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative capabilities
  • Strong airline or travel industry business acumen
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Master's degree
  • Commercial/business development experience
  • Experience with Salesforce.com
  • Microsoft Project or advanced Excel skills
  • UC360 and SharePoint experience

Salary and benefits information is being included in this job posting in accordance with Colorado state law, California state law, and NYC law. The salary for this position is $70,070 - $102,780, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.
