Strike-Zone Fishing has an immediate opening for a Cashier. The primary responsibilities of the Cashier position are to maintain helpful customer service, process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently, and operating cash registers, scanners and other electronics.

Strike-Zone Fishing was established in 2003 to offer the residents of Jacksonville an informative and customer service-based outdoors shopping experience. Our staff is passionate about the outdoors and making sure you have the right gear for your fishing, hunting, and paddling adventures.
Our fishing specialists are knowledgeable in freshwater, saltwater, surf fishing, fly fishing, vertical jigging, and more. We also have hunting experts on staff who can help with your archery and shooting sport’s needs. Our kayak department was recently expanded to include more extensive equipment for kayak fishing and leisure paddling. We also stock the latest sportswear from brands like Aftco, Pelagic, Simms, Marsh Wear, Olukai and our signature Strike-Zone Fishing brand.
Strike-Zone Fishing is open seven days a week and conveniently located one block East of Interstate 295 at the corner of Beach Boulevard and Beachwood in Jacksonville, FL. We are open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 7 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.
Major Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they enter the store
- Answer phone calls
- Pleasantly manage customer questions and requests
- Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and maintain all cash at registers
- Maintain orderly appearance of register area and ensure supplies are stocked
- Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
Minimum Requirements
- Experience in a retail environment either in cashier, sales, or back office
- A commitment to service, excellence, and customer satisfaction
- Skills/Knowledge: Ability to process information and/or merchandise through register system
- Check-in and stock merchandise, as needed
- Manage warranty and repair process
- Process online orders and ship
- Ability to communicate with associates and customers
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learn
- Knowledge of retail computer systems, electronic cash registers, MS Word, and Excel a plus
- Exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including early evenings, weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
- Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting up to 30 pounds and perform all functions as set forth
