Job Summary and Qualifications

• 1. Assembles instrument trays according to count sheets.

• 2. Prioritizes tray completion based on customer needs.

• 3. Performs job tasks in a way that ensures proper sterilization.

• 4. Operates sterilizers and sterrad to ensure proper sterilization.

• 5. Receives and decontaminates soiled instrumentation and equipment.

• 6. Prepares all instrumentation for sterilization according to recognized standards.

7. Adheres to established quality control protocol.

8. Communicates effectively with CS/OR Coordinator, staff, and other customers, including use of proper telephone etiquette.

9 Adheres to hospital policies and procedures, supports the mission of the hospital.

10 Utilizes computerized tracking system to assemble trays and identify missing items

11. Work with Service Coordinators and OR Coordinator to locate instrumentation and pricing

necessary to meet the needs of new and existing surgeons

12. Round throughout the day to areas outside of surgical services to gather instrumentation and

provide a prompt turnover to ensure continuous service.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE:

Required - Experience working in a related health care field for at least 6 months.

Preferred - Minimum of 2 years of experience in Central Sterile Supply department to include: proper identification of instruments and preparation of trays for OR use

EDUCATION:

Required - High School Graduate or GED completion

Preferred - Current certification as Central Sterile Technician

Hours: Full time, day shift
