Job description
The Surgery Center Charge Nurse will work within the system’s Ambulatory Surgery Center and assist in leading all daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center while assisting to oversee staff and uphold all policies and regulations. The Surgery Center CHARGE NURSE will also play a pivotal role in advancing nursing practice within the center and improving patient care outcomes. The ideal Surgery Center CHARGE NURSE candidate for this role will have strong nursing leadership and clinical skills. He/she will work in conjunction with the Director of Nursing to help improve the level of care for each patient, coordinating and controlling the multidisciplinary activities required to provide a safe environment for patients undergoing surgical intervention. The Charge Nurse shall be a registered professional nurse and shall have at least three years of full-time experience in nursing supervision and/or nursing administration in a licensed health care facility.

SALARY IS CONTINGENT TO EXPERIENCE
- Coordination of procedural flow
- Maintain monthly and daily employee schedule
- Expected to have general nursing knowledge of all surgical procedures performed at the Center
- Excellent customer service mindset and superb communication skills (written, oral and electronic)
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate skills in Excel
- Evaluates the environment where patient care activities take place and makes appropriate changes
- Holds individual employees accountable for assigned responsibilities, individual goals, and performance expectations through annual performance evaluations and conferences in collaboration with the Medical Director
- Communicates effectively with all staff and ensures that all necessary information is disseminated
- Reduces chances of nosocomial infection by directing attention to infection control and environmental safety practices
- Ability to facilitate smooth and safe patient transition through the center
- All other duties assigned
