Job description

This leader in the pharmaceutical industry is looking to add a Chemical Engineer to their team! This is an entry level position.

Pay: $32-36/hour

Hours: 8am-5pm M-F

Responsibilities:

• Complete process engineering design for all projects when required
• Work in conjunction with area personnel and management to develop project justification.
• Validate project improvements and cost savings associated with project after implementation.
• Mark up P&IDs as required for all projects
• Modification of PFDs, material and/or energy balances
• Modification of other pertinent parts of the PMF (e.g. operating procedures, JTA’s, LOTO’s)
• Development of process control definition
• Provide instrument process data
• In conjunction with area personnel develop and execute operator training for projects
• Coordinate project MOCs
• Conduct/direct all project PHA’s and reviews up to and including hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies
• Ensure that all aspects of a modification or project meet environmental regulations
• Participate in project safety walk-throughs.
• In conjunction with area engineers assist in checkout, commissioning and startup of new projects

Requirements:

• 0-3 years experience in a chemical manufacturing facility (Junior Process Engineer)
• Experience with Pressure Relief Devices and understanding Pressure Safety Methodology
• Experience with Equipment Sizing Calculations and Design (Pumps, Valves, Instruments)

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Chemical engineering: 1 year (Preferred)
• Pressure relief device: 1 year (Preferred)
• Equipment Sizing Calculations & Design (Pumps, Valves, etc.): 1 year (Preferred)
