THE ROLE

The job responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate conversations that bridge gaps with the field operations team and internal staff
  • Identify challenges, develop solutions, and remove operational barriers to success
  • Oversee the business development function, prioritize and delegate responsibilities on initiatives and projects
  • Meet with key customers and strategic industry partners to build relationships
  • Own the organizational vision, goals, objectives, and issues - to increase growth
  • Lead, manage, and hold team members accountable
  • Execute a system to simplify and streamline on-boarding and training for the internal administrative team and outside field operations team
  • Drive profitability of the P&L and execute overall business plan to reach profitability goals
  • Identify, develop, and implement processes and systems, focusing on expanding current products and services.
  • Manage the process associated with fulfilling company obligations to customers from the time they sign a contract to the time the energy efficiency work and solar equipment installation work is completed. Responsibility for this process will include managing third party service providers, individual projects, and customer communications .
  • Drive strategic thinking, organizational transformation, and tactical approaches within the department(s)
  • Owns all aspects of customer communications and experience from post sale to install
  • Develop contact center capabilities for all processes related to the customer interaction and engagement from post sales to pre-install phases of the project
  • Develop financial and operational models, analysis, and reporting to ensure transparency and results
  • Inspire others, lead by example, and ensure operational excellence within the company by building a results-driven culture
  • Provides oversight to ensure efficient development of Design Documents for all phases of the Sales, permitting and installation process.
  • Responsible for tracking key business performance metrics from post sale to pre-install, understanding efficiency metrics, and suggesting/implementing tactics to continuously advance the divisions performance
  • Assume responsibility for onboarding new hires including developing SOPs and training materials for your teams to perform at high levels
  • Collaborate with Field Ops and Sales teams to ensure a smooth transition of projects and manage the pipeline of projects
  • Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Customer Service, and Productivity throughout operations
  • Directs all Operational functions involving and including the management and oversight of all subcontractor relationships and expectations.
  • Take a hands-on approach to process development, planning, and personnel management


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience in residential and commercial construction operations
  • Project management experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Financial oversight/P&L experience

Preferred

  • Business-to-business customer experience
  • Experience working for a small company
  • Solid experience working with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Projects, or similar Project Management software

Desired

  • Experience with roofing products
