CPH has an opening in our San Juan, PR office location for the following position:
Civil Engineer (E.I.T.) with an interest in design and permitting, Land Development, utilities and infrastructure projects with minimum 1 years of experience.
Hiring Bonus of $1,000 for selected candidate!
Duties Include
- Working under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer as a member of a team in the design and preparation of technical reports, analysis/calculations and construction documents.
- Preparation of accurate presentation, design, details and construction documents.
- Preparation of permit applications and submittal packages to Agencies having jurisdiction.
- Coordination with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, utility providers, contractors and other parties associated with the project.
- Periodic travel to perform site investigations, and construction observation.
- Preparation of specifications, shop drawing review, field observations, preparation of inspection reports and other construction administration tasks.
- Collaboration with other firm engineers, architects, disciplines, project managers, and business development teams.
- Research, interpretation and implementation of relevant codes and client requirements.
- Implementation and utilization of CPH and client standards and templates.
- Review of documents prepared by others and implementation of project quality control.
- Development and adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgets.
- Management of clients and national account programs.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Experience in design and permitting of Land Development or Utility projects in Puerto Rico.
- Experience in design and management of small to large-scale projects, and maintaining project schedule & budget is a plus. Willing to work as a team and have strong organization and communication skills.
- Experience in design or drafting of land development projects including stormwater design, site plan layout, water/sewer service design, permitting, and cost estimating is a plus.
- Experience in preparation of design plans, specifications, and reports for a variety of water/wastewater projects which may include transmission, distribution, collection, pumping systems, treatment, storage, utility master planning, permitting, hydraulic modeling, and various engineering tasks is strongly preferred.
- Previous project management experience including schedule tracking, budget preparations, and client coordination is a plus.
- Highly Proficient with AutoCad, knowledge and experience with Civil 3D is preferred.
- In addition, candidate shall have strong written and communication skills.
