Job description

Bellhop Health is an early stage startup incubated at Boston Children’s Hospital, and is on a mission to help children everywhere reach their fullest potential. Bellhop delivers development support & early intervention (EI) care to families & children with developmental delays. Families can use Bellhop to support the full patient journey from initial developmental screening through the delivery of virtual services, such as pediatric Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, and Physical Therapy. Through a novel clinical staffing and care delivery model, Bellhop aims to solve the massive access gaps that exist in early intervention today, whereby 20% of kids have delays or disabilities that would benefit from EI while only 3.7% are receiving EI services. Employees of Bellhop should feel passionately about early childhood development and the impact that technology can have on access to services and health outcomes.

Responsibilities

The Director of Clinical Strategy and Operations will design the processes and lead the clinical team, ensuring the highest quality clinical care is delivered to Bellhop parents and families. This role will be an integral part of the early team at Bellhop and report directly to the CEO, Elizabeth Kidder. The ideal candidate has the ability to think strategically, drive the development of the overarching clinical model, and has a deep understanding of and passion for early childhood development.

Operations

  • Develop and execute reporting processes related to licensing, credentialing, and other provider documentation requirements
  • Implement quality control processes and targets, and report key metrics to the executive team, investors, and partners
  • Determine and execute escalation processes as they relate to patients & families clinical experience within Bellhop and referral out of Bellhop as needed

Hiring & Team Management

  • Develop and oversee all aspects of clinical training and onboarding, ensuring new clinical team members are prepared to deliver top care as per the Bellhop care model
  • Recruitment and retainment of clinical talent, including speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and child development specialists.
  • Work with the appropriate stakeholders to project clinical team utilization and ensure staffing requirements are meeting user demand

Strategy

  • Oversee the care model and strategy for the delivery of clinical assessments and services via Bellhop
  • Scale the virtual care team as Bellhop expands to other geographic areas and maintain up-to-date regulatory and policy knowledge to help inform growth strategy
  • Work cross functionally with the product and development teams to inform the roadmap based on customer feedback and metrics

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in management of care operations, preferably within an Early Intervention program or hospital department or private practice offering pediatric developmental services (e.g. speech & language or OT)
  • Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Experience with virtual care or telemedicine, and enthusiasm for the opportunity this modality presents
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Excited about working in a fast-paced environment with a small team, competing priorities, and some ambiguity (AKA a startup!)
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech and Language Pathology
  • 3+ years in pediatric clinical practice

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package for an early-stage, high-growth, digital health company (includes equity)
  • Flexible vacation and time-off
  • Remote-first
  • Opportunity to build a long-term role and career path
  • And more!
  • Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles

Note: All employment offers are contingent on successful background check
