Position: CNC Programmer/Wire EDM Operator

Department: Die Shop

Scope of Job: Sets up and operates wire EDM machine to cut any materials that conduct electricity according to specifications and tooling instructions, applying knowledge of machining methods

Responsibilities:

• Receives blueprints to be programmed from die maker and programs (and stores) data on HP Apollo 735
• Checks size and grade of material before set-up on machine
• Retrieves the program from the CAD system using a personal computer
• Runs the program and edits as needed
• Checks part prior to release from the setup
• Resets the part if necessary
• Releases part to Die Maker for finishing work
• If job is a repair, releases part to inspector who checks on CMM for tool validity, if finished
• Performs other customer driven or product driven duties as assigned by Supervisor

Essential Expertise:

• Basic metallurgy
• Blueprint reading
• Die theory
• Knowledge of manufacturing process at overview level
• Machining
• Math (including geometry and trigonometry)
• Use of precision measuring instruments to maintain close tolerances

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ year of Tool Room/CNC Programming/Wire EDM experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
