Refugee and Immigrant Voices in Action (RIVA) is actively hiring a Communications and Marketing Manager in the Des Moines, IA area. Remote candidates who reside in Iowa will be considered.

As a Communications and Marketing Manager, you will serve as a primary day-to-day contact for media relations activity. You will assist in managing projects and PR events, oversee measurement efforts, and provide content development support.

RIVA is an immigrant centered organization that works to build the power of the people who are sidelined. RIVA creates change by partnering and leveraging with refugee and immigrant leaders and ethnic-community-based organizations.

Job Duties:

• Work with relevant personnel to develop and maintain supportive internal relationships
• Lead strategy development of marketing campaigns, social media, website, e-newsletters, photography and videography, and other platforms
• Distribute timely and meaningful information to outside communication partners, including partner organizations, news media and other outlets
• Plan and manage events as requested, both virtual and in-person, including interagency meetings, conferences, social events, fundraisers, etc.
• Develop marketing plan with budget and short and long-term strategies

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or PR preferred
• Two years of communication or marketing experience required
• Social media branding awareness required
• Bilingual preferred
• Prior experience working with immigrant and refugee communities, required
• Advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and other marketing-related software
