Overview:
What´s the role?

As a Communications Specialist, you'll be handling company-wide communications programs and activities. Will be involved in corporate communications initiatives, crucial communication, and employee engagement programs to support business objectives, from concept formulation and message development through to delivery and results evaluation and improvements for primarily internal audiences ensuring consistency with key messages and branding. Serve as the entry point into the corporate communications department for assigned divisions/departments.
Responsibilities:

How can you add value?


  • Review and edit early drafts of communications materials to ensure content meets established communications standards, guidelines, and appropriate messaging before publication, forwards to appropriate personnel for final stages of review.
  • Lead project planning for multiple communication campaigns. Plan, research, write and coordinate the various communications pieces needed for any given campaign (including newsletter articles, employee communications posters, postcards, news releases, and more).
  • Coordinate with manager, corporate communications, and other corporate communications specialists to assure that written pieces are provided for all appropriate communication channels in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development of communications and marketing initiatives and programs. Responsible for coordinating and maintaining the department's photo archives; assist with photography needs, including taking photos or locating stock photos.
  • Support the implementation of internal and external communication plans and activities.
  • Work with other members of the Public Affairs & Marketing team, department leaders and staff members of other departments to identify ways to engage and educate associates to support Liberty’s culture.
  • Serve as adviser to internal business partners to help build and implement communication and engagement plans to support their business initiatives, ensure connection back to the company’s strategy and reinforce the benefits of working for Liberty.
  • Develop and perform internal communications plans and strategies, including support for general corporate initiatives and clients within shared services (HR, Finance, IT, Business Development, etc.) and customer experience (marketing, customer experience) to meet their business needs. This includes developing dedicated communication plans as well as reactive communication plans.
  • Write, edit, and develop content for various internal communications channels, including email, print, videos, and electronic to support communications strategies.
  • Maintain communication relationships with all corporate office department heads and executive management, providing mentorship and counsel on effective communications planning and messaging.
  • Build content and handles delivery of company news to employees through online web-based, social media, newsletters, audio/video, face-to-face, printed, and electronic communication tools; and develop new methods in line with industry standard methodologies to maintain relevancy.
  • Support leadership-employee communication for regular message delivery through various channels including quarterly town hall presentations, employee meetings; develop talking points / write speeches as required.
  • Demonstrate and ensure compliance with the Customer First Philosophy, all Liberty Latin America's policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct and Liberty safety standards and procedures.
  • Other functions may be assigned.
Qualifications:

What do you need?

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, or communication.
Between 2 and 5 years of dynamic job-related experience as a public relations/communications professional or copy writer/editor.
Experience with social media, event management, or content marketing.
Hands-on experience with marketing and content management tools such as Drupal, Constant Contact, Hootsuite, and Google Analytics is a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English); written and spoken.
  • Preferred to have excellent writing skills, strong editorial, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Able to multitask in a dynamic, high pressure working environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point & Acrobat, among others).
  • Ability to think independently and develop strong communication solutions/recommendations.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
