Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced controller who will be responsible for the accurate and timely financial management of the company, as well as a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The successful candidate will also provide leadership and coordination of the general accounting department and be responsible for accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports, and maintenance of accounting records.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financials of the company to meet legal requirements and keep the company’s financial state in good standing.
  • Develop or expand reconciliation processes for accounts missing proper documentation.
  • Evaluate current ERP functionality and processes and develop new processes (if applicable) or implement new ERP system to meet growth goals.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.
  • Monitor the company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs.
  • Analyze monthly reports, operating expenses, budgets, and forecasts and provide risk analysis.
  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting department and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
  • Design, establish and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the companies’ goals and objectives.
  • Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Forecast cash flow
  • Maintain loan reconciliations and depreciation schedules on all fixed assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
  • CPA or CMA license preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Proven experience in financial project management.
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel.
  • Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
  • Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to be sitting for extended periods of time, utilizing fingers, wrists, hands, and vision. On occasion requires the ability to lift approximately 25 lbs.
