CPET Introduction to Programming Adjunct Faculty - NHTI
Job description
Adjunct Faculty: $679 - $836 per credit. The credit rate will be determined by the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
Clinical Adjunct Faculty: $46.05 - $57.17 per clinical contact hour. The rate per clinical contact hour will be determined by the clinical adjunct level, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
NHTI is seeking qualified individuals who are interested teaching CPET 107C (3-credits), Introduction to Programming with C++ as an adjunct faculty during the 2021 fall semester and/or the 2022 spring semester. This course is taken by students in the Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Game Programming majors at NHTI.
The course format is two hours lecture and three hours programming lab (3 credits). During both the spring and fall semesters, one section of this course is offered one evening each week (typically 5:30 – 9:40 or 6:00 – 10:10) and the other section is offered days, 2-hour lecture one day each week and 3-hour lecture offered another day each week. Both the day and evening sections will be offered on the NHTI campus.
The course introduces the student to program design using the language C++ and assumes the student has had no prior programming experience. The course focuses on effective structured design of code with variables, decisions, loops, functions, arrays, the use of pointers and the object-oriented paradigm. Microsoft’s Visual Studio is used as the IDE for the course.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from recognized college or university with major study in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
Teaching Experience: Teaching experience preferred but not required for candidate with excellent education credentials and professional experience.
Professional Experience: At least 5 years programming experience including at least 2 years’ programming experience in C or C++. Previous teaching experience in C++ will be considered as a substitution for professional experience programming in C++.
