We are currently seeking staff for a large statewide Initiative & Referendum Petition Campaign which runs from September 21, 2022- February of 2022. You must have availability during these dates. Must have computer and typing skills. Candidates must be professional, energetic, friendly, flexible, personable, outgoing and proactive, with a "team-player" attitude. Most positions require long periods of sitting. These are contract positions.

We are looking for a Data Entry Operator to update and maintain information on our company databases and validate documents submitted by the petitioners.

Data Entry Operator responsibilities include collecting and entering data in databases and maintaining accurate records of valuable company information. Our ideal candidate has essential data entry skills, like fast typing with an eye for detail and familiarity with spreadsheets and online forms. You will work with a data team and Data Manager. Previous experience as a Data Entry Clerkor similar position will be considered an advantage.

Ultimately, a successful Data Entry Operator will be responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date and usable information when it comes to validating the petitioners’ documents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To enter data from various source documents into the computer system for storage, processing and data management purposes.

Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry
  • Entering customer and account data from source documents within time limits
  • Check source documents for accuracy
  • Verify data and correct data where necessary
  • Obtain further information for incomplete documents
  • Update data and delete unnecessary files
  • Combine and rearrange data from source documents where required
  • Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms
  • Transcribe information into required electronic format
  • Scan documents into document management systems or databases
  • Check completed work for accuracy
  • Store completed documents in designated locations
  • Maintain log books or records of activities and tasks
  • Respond to requests for information and access relevant files
  • Print information when required
  • Comply with data integrity and security policies
  • Maintain own office equipment and stationery supplies

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma
  • Formal computer training an advantage
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS Office
  • Accurate keyboard skills and proven ability to enter data at the required speed
  • Knowledge of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
