Role Overview
Liquidnet is part of the Agency Execution business unit within TP ICAP. Liquidnet specializes in delivering electronic trading solutions to buy-side and sell-side clients in Equities and Fixed Income markets globally. Algorithmic Trading is one such electronic trading solution that Liquidnet offers its clients and is a significant driver of revenues for the firm. This is a rapidly evolving market, with constant changes in market structure, client requests, regulation and new product innovations.

We are looking for an outstanding Trading Infrastructure developer to be a part of agile, highly professional team delivering client-facing trading algorithms and related technologies.

Job Duties

Scope:
Liquidnet is seeking an outstanding Senior Trading Infrastructure Developer to join the Global Trading Technology team. This individual will be a part of an agile, high-performance team directly involved in Liquidnet’s fast-growing algorithmic trading business.

The role demands working in close partnership with Algo Developers, Product, Infrastructure and Support teams to deliver effective tooling for trading solutions. This individual will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the continuous integration environment, continuous deployment, benchmark testing, performance monitoring, capacity management and the management of various environments.

Primary responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and enhance the tooling to achieve automation on the trading platform, including continuous integration (CI), orchestration, provisioning, etc.
• Work with trading platform vendor, trading applications, and test environment teams to incorporate state-of-the-art automation and tooling
• Heavily contribute to the design and improvement of automation frameworks and perform benchmark and load testing of various trading applications
• Consistently assess processes and seek new opportunities for automation-driven efficiencies aligned with CI infrastructure
• Collaborate with stakeholders (business analysts, developers, product owners, quants, end-users, and others) to understand business requirements and stakeholders’ needs
• Analyze system logs, configurations and other system data by implementing or using common technology tools
• Responsible for bug advocacy: issue identification, tracking, escalation and resolution
• Engage vendor in building custom features and adapters for the trading platform to facilitate onboarding of new algo flow, custom analytics, risk management etc.
• Contribute to all areas of team performance including daily scrums and after-action reviews.
• Serve as third-tier support for production issues and related support needs.

Risk Responsibilities
Ensure that you understand the risks and controls on your department; what could go wrong, what controls you have to prevent/detect or contain these.

All staff have defined risk management responsibilities. The Group imposes additional responsibilities on line-managers and senior managers. It is critical that all staff discharge their risk management responsibilities when undertaking their role. Specific responsibilities are incorporated into employee objectives, and your performance against these objectives will be assessed as part of the firm’s performance management process. You will also be required to confirm that you have discharged your risk management responsibilities through the annual risk management attestation process.

Skills Specification

Requirements for the role:

• 3+ years of experience in development of trading infrastructure & tools in a global financial services company.
• 3+ years of programming experience with Scala and/or Python. Experience with Core Java is an additional plus. Linux/Bash scripting, and SQL is a bonus.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol, equities market microstructure and market data is desired.
• Experience with software lifecycle tools such as Jira, Jenkins/Travis-CI/Bamboo, etc.
• Experience with source control systems such as GitLab, Perforce, SVN, etc.
• Understanding of testing methodologies, including test case design, test scripting, defect analysis, defect reporting, and defect tracking.
• Experience with programming test automation scripts in Python, jBehave/Cucumber, or similar programming language in the equity trading domain.
• Experience with OMS/EMS such as InfoReach, Fidessa, FlexTrade, Portware, Triton, etc.
• Experience with messaging products such as Solace, 29West, etc.
• Strategic thinking, analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively at all organizational levels with written and verbal communication skills.

This job description is subject to the terms and conditions of your Employment or Service Agreement and Handbook. You shall perform other such duties as the Company or any Group Company may reasonably require.

Salary Range $150,000 - $200,000
