We’re looking for an experienced Director of Digital Marketing who will lead the execution of digital marketing, social media, and eCommerce efforts for our portfolio of hotels. They will collaborate with the sales, revenue management, and operations teams to maximize our direct website traffic, revenue, and conversion. This is a hybrid position with up to 50% travel to our collection of hotels (Washington DC, Philadelphia, PA + more to come) as needed. The remainder of the time will require remote work.

What You Will Be Doing
- Take ownership of all digital ecommerce efforts, implementing steps to maximize direct website traffic, conversion, and revenue.
- Manage hotel content on all digital channels (owned and third-party), ensuring content is optimized and consistent with brand standards.
- Creation and execution of hotel-specific marketing efforts, including packages, promotions, flash sales, and more.
- Collaborate with digital and agency partners to ensure the above is executed and promoted across online and offline channels.
- Partner with sales, revenue management and operations teams, to support key initiatives such as sales promotions, blitzes, and group offerings/packages. Ensure these efforts are consistently communicated across all channels.
- Measure the results of digital campaigns, and communicate these results to non-digital experts, articulating why efforts were (or were not) successful at driving hotel performance.
- Understand the objectives for hotels in the portfolio and determine what digital efforts are needed to accomplish them.
- Work with the sales and revenue teams to create the annual plan and associated budget for each hotel’s marketing and ecommerce efforts, ensuring plans are consistent with and executed against these budgets.
- Continuously analyze portfolio performance against prior years and industry standards to determine whether the hotels on target to reach goals, making strategy adjustments, as necessary.
- Benchmark against hotel competitive set by researching what they are doing well (and not well) and how we can gain a competitive advantage.
- Stay current on all digital marketing techniques and innovations, sharing ideas and recommendations for implementation at appropriate hotels.
- Serve as the social media strategy owner to help gain followers, drive engagement, conversions, and consistency across all social channels
- Collaborate with shared services team and external design agencies to drive consistency across creative brand elements (images, logos, branding, etc.) and management of all digital assets.
- Take ownership of individual hotel websites and work with internal stakeholders and external agencies to plan and strategize on website design, updates, and evolution to increase traffic and conversions
- Partner with PM development team to optimize the “Modus” brand on all digital channels
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of digital marketing experience at an agency or in-house, ideally in the hotel industry.
- Specific experience with SEM, SEO, Meta, social media, and other digital media.
- Success driving digital results in prior roles and the ability to communicate the strategies and tactics that generated positive results.
- Experience with content management systems, basic web design, and U/X.
- Relationship management and account management skills. Negotiation and escalation management experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, keeping them organized and meeting deadlines.
- A problem solver – able to define problems, identify trends, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to proactively plan and propose new opportunities.
- A curious, creative, dynamic leader who is unsatisfied with the status quo.
- Caring, genuine, and relentlessly detail oriented.
- Professionalism and exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
