Job description

We are seeking a delivery driver for cargo van and/or box truck deliveries throughout CT & MA.

Duties and expectations:

1. Dress attire includes company shirt, jeans, and steel toe work boots/shoes. Occasionally a hard hat or safety glasses may be required on site or at a customer’s location during delivery.

2. Punctuality is required when starting your day; it is your obligation to show up on time to work.

3. Friendly customer service is always required when confronting customers.

4. Some duties required to perform your job are lifting products which can exceed 50+lbs. Ability to read, write, and speak properly. Some computer skills such and UPS, Word and Excel are required. Ability to walk, crouch, and reach are required.

5. You must check your orders when delivering; every product must match what is on the delivery ticket which includes: the correct item and qty, and the correct unit of measure. Proof of delivery by taking a photo with your smart phone may be required at certain stops.

6. It’s your duty to inspect your vehicle before leaving the facility. This includes checking tires, lights and doing a walk around safety check of your vehicle. Vehicle must be off and locked at every stop.

7. Any and all traffic violations related to improper driving will result in a written warning or even termination; you are responsible for your own actions while driving.

8. You must keep a clean, safe and organized vehicle at all times.

9. ABCO will provide safety training to all employees; you must follow the guidelines at all times to ensure a safe work environment.

10. Must have a valid driver’s license. CDL licenses are acceptable, not required.

11. Occasionally, packing and picking your own orders may be required. On slow days some warehouse work may be required which includes packing and putting stock away, and doing inventory counts. You must be able to operate a forklift and have a forklift certification.
