McClatchy is looking for a freelance production assistant to work on optimizing shopping and partner content. This person will work within our CMS and closely with our partnership and experimentation teams as they update and format e-commerce content and oversee the editing of any sponsored placements. You will be editing and publishing content, optimizing for search and distribution, and updating affiliate placements.

The anticipated base pay for this position is $40.00 hourly on a part-time 20 to 30 hour work schedule.

The right person will…

• 
  Have experience working within content management systems and CMS production.
• Have a basic understanding of HTML.
• A news background and a strong understanding of news ethics when it comes to e-commerce content.
• Experience using Photoshop, Canva or other digital editing software.
• The focus to understand priorities when there are several projects in the backlog.
