This position offers you excellent opportunities to learn and grow through hands-on project experience under the supervision of a group of seasoned engineers and technical experts. You will have the unique opportunity to be involved in the whole cycle of projects from Planning/conceptual design, to detailed design, construction, and operation.
As an engineer in LCRA Water Engineering Department, you will provide engineering and technical support to LCRA Water and Hydroelectric Operations with facilities along the Lower Colorado River from Lake Buchanan to Matagorda.
You will be trusted to:
- Under the supervision of a Professional Engineer (PE)
- Perform engineering calculations and designs
- Visit project sites and document field observations
- Review existing reports/available data and develop a list of issues and create a summary
- Investigate technical issues and develop practical solutions
- Review project plans and specifications prepared by external consulting engineers hired by LCRA
You qualify with:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science.
- Driver's license
You are a great fit with:
- 4 years college degree in civil with emphasis on structural or geotechnical engineering
- Pass the FE/EIT exam
- Any experience with levee and dam analysis/design/construction/inspection is a plus
