What you will be doing

As an Engineering Tech II, you would follow scripts to configure PC’s and hardware, package the equipment and prepare for shipment.

The position will be based in Tempe, Arizona.

Main responsibilities

• Work with peers and diverse knowledge teams to accomplish common goals.
• Configure hardware for delivery to stores.
• Palletize equipment for shipments.
• Frequently work with operating systems, production applications, LANs, software, hardware, and retail systems.
• Work with networking team to streamline processes.
• Provide assistance and support for field staff.
• Work with logistics carriers to assure proper documentation.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Validate accuracy of shipments.

What we are searching for

• Working knowledge of databases, including data entry, retrieval, and data utilization.
• Experience managing multiple tasks and driving them to completion with a high degree of success.
• Able to work independently.
• A proven ability to perform as a Team Player.
• Must be able regularly lift up to 50 pounds of equipment; some twisting and turning during equipment installations or repair.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

• Training in related electronics technology.
• 1 - 2 years of Safeway Retail experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of personal computers, basic networks, servers, and output devices.
• MUST be an effective communicator electronically and on paper.
