Position Description

Tesla Energy is looking for a highly skilled electrical technician to build, rework and maintain repairs on PCBA and power electronics for system operation while supporting functional validation of Tesla Energy Products. The position will include assisting with board component setup and debugging, collaborate closely with the Electrical Engineering team to define and build equipment including design, sourcing, assembly and creation with a primary focus on PC board rework, mechanical fabrication, electrical wiring (high and low voltage controls/comms) and custom instrumentation setup (e.g. voltage, current, temperature, flow rate).

Responsibilities

· Soldering iron/tweezers, hot air, fine pitch, hand tools and some power tools.

· Experience building, operating and troubleshooting electromechanical assemblies

· Populate, test and repair prototype PCBA

· Read/comprehend electronic schematics or work from written / verbal instructions using little or no formally released documentation

· Familiar with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies and other standard EE lab equipment

· Troubleshoot various systems using documentation, instrumentation and input from multiple Engineering teams

· Fabricate cable harnesses, familiar with various connector types and crimp tools

· Support Engineers in lab activities including clear understanding of electrical equipment for safe troubleshooting, operation and maintenance

· Create and maintain purchase orders, justification and approvals for minor orders

· Support Engineers and develop spec, maintain BOM, source, submit and manage orders including vendor communication, obtaining quotes, on and offsite logistics, PO creation and asset management

· Coordinate material shipping and transfers for both Engineers and site locations

· Organize and manage on-site tools and lab stock of materials

Requirements

· AS or BS degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

· 3+ years of experience in an engineering development environment

· IPC certification highly desired

· Great mechanical fabrication & electrical prototyping skills (soldering, wire harness fab, harness diagram)

· Experience with test equipment (e.g. digital multimeter, oscilloscope, thermocouple data acquisition unit)

· Strong troubleshooting skills at board component level

· Safety oriented - this role will require lone interaction with high-voltage and high-power electrical equipment.

· Strong interpersonal and communications skills

· Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, ability to change direction quickly

· Experience in Python, Linux based operating systems, LabVIEW, Modbus communication, CAN communication, basic networking highly desired

· First aid/AED/CPR training highly desired

Pay: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
