Job Title: Entry Writer, Classification Specialist

1. Summary Description

Why does the job/role exist?

This position is responsible for validating the classification of goods imported into the USA. The person reviews documents to make sure all is in order. They will reach out to customers with any questions or advice. If no classification is provided they will reach out to the customer and/or provide a classification based on their skills and experience. This level of classification is able to handle higher volume or more complex “copy/paste” classification, verifying and EDI feed, pull classification from a database, can also classify and provide recommended classification to importers.

• Make sure all items are reviewed for classification

• Processed by ETA or to customer’s requirements

3. Key Accountability/Job Duties

• 25% - Document review
• 25% - Coordination and communication with customers and ask questions
• 25% - Coordination with classification experts
• 25% - Hire, train, develop and motivate staff

4. Job Qualifications

• Required Education: High School Graduate or GED
• Experience: 2-5 years industry experience, classification training and experience
• Skill Sets: Attention to detail, speed, teamwork, coping, problem solving, commitment to task, MS Office proficient
• Language Skills: Strong written and spoken English
