The Event Sales Assistant coordinates and assists with execution of meetings, programs, and special events for both internal and external groups.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain customer relationship management (CRM) database and external event calendar.
- Respond to sales inquiries, prepare contracts, produce inquiry and sales reports.
- Maintain budget forecast.
- Respond to incoming sales leads and referrals.
- Prepare proposals and contracts.
- Organize, schedule and attend site visits.
- Update CRM database and budget forecasts.
- Manage and maintain event calendar.
- Generate sales analysis reports.
- Support marketing campaigns, client recognitions and other projects as assigned.
- Support departmental sales and marketing goals.
- Attend industry events and network to gain new business leads and learn about up and coming event trends.
This is currently a hybrid position, with the expectation to be on-site an average of three days per week, per month, unless as otherwise required.
The expected salary range for the Event Sales Assistant is $50,000 – 60,000. This position is overtime eligible and the AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community.
Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of related experience in NYC hospitality industry, customer service, and familiarity of food and beverage services.
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Customer service-focused and dedicated to meeting client expectations through building effective relationships and executing deliverables to the highest standards.
- Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to various situations in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in hospitality.
