P.E.A.R.L.’s new Executive Director should be capable of leading and transforming the organization in alignment with its mission and long-term vision by skillfully navigating changing conditions, creating excitement around our agency’s core strategies, seizing new opportunities, and demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit for developing progressive and practical strategies to continue the agency's growth.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, P.E.A.R.L.’s new Executive Director has a strategic and operational responsibility to help the agency's mission by ensuring excellence across all organizational segments, including fiscal management of our annual budget, grant activities, programmatic strategies, human resources, fundraising and development, technology, community development, strategic planning, and resources. The Executive Director oversees 5 employees, working collaboratively to cultivate an organizational culture of growth and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising, Finance and Board Development:

  • Set and meet annual fundraising targets to support the growth of the organization.
  • Meaningfully contribute to the development and support of a strong Board. Promote Board engagement in governance and overall organizational wellness.
  • Build and manage a high-impact local donor pool.
  • Grow a sustainable, diversified funding base.
  • Ensure the ongoing engagement and stewardship of an ever-growing portfolio of influential individual, corporate and foundation partners.
  • Lead annual budget and planning processes, manage and oversee budget, prepare financial reports, and steward audit process.
  • Leverage the Board of Directors experience and strategic guidance around fundraising.

Strategy & Planning:

  • Partner with the Board of Directors to shape the P.E.A.R.L.’s vision and strategic direction, secure and sustain strategic partnerships and position the organization for impact.
  • Design team-led annual planning and goal setting to achieve long-term goals.
  • Oversee grants to ensure the organization meets all requirements.

Sustainability & Growth

  • Locate new grants and additional sources of funding to make the organization self-sustaining.
  • Develop and implement a three-year sustainability and growth strategy.
  • Seek opportunities based on team and student priorities.

Executive Leadership and Organizational Management

  • Oversee the Executive Director day-to-day operations fiscally and programmatically, meeting grant and program deliverables and engaging key stakeholders
  • Provide vision and leadership to maximize the impact of the organization's programs
  • Organize, motivate, and guide employees to collaborate, grow staff capacity, and set and meet organization’s goals
  • Champion the values of equity and inclusion in the organization's day-to-day work
  • Develop annual budget in collaboration with the Fiscal Director and Board of Directors
  • Uphold the P.E.A.R.L.’s mission and direction through strategic planning

External Relations and Communications

  • Provide leadership in discussing P.E.A.R.L.’s mission and needs by consistently promoting the organization and its mission, improving its brand, and raising awareness around substance use and addiction prevention, counseling, and recovery support initiatives
  • Represent and promote organization in the local community; develop positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, government entities, and volunteers.
  • Develop, maintain, and model collaborative relationships with community agencies and constituents throughout the service delivery area
  • Serve as P.E.A.R.L.’s chief spokesperson, along with the Board of Directors and P.E.A.R.L.’s directors, with the media and at events, conferences, and meetings

Board Governance

  • Collaborate with the P.E.A.R.L.’s Board to identify strategic options and plans for organizational impact
  • Maintain regular and ongoing communication with the Board

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
  • Proven knowledge and experience with fundraising and resource development; implementation and execution of strategic deliverables; and developing and maintaining sustainable and accountable operations
  • Proven track record of success in grant writing and the ability to pursue new funding opportunities from public and private sources
  • Broad background in cultivating relationships with partners, funders, community members, donors, sponsors, and elected officials
  • Ability to work with groups, including key stakeholders, Board of Directors, agency management, and different levels of employees, to achieve results and promote a collaborative and supportive environment
  • Ability to communicate with diplomacy, professionalism, and tact, exhibiting excellent relationship management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience as an organizational spokesperson
  • Fluent computer literacy (Microsoft Teams, Office 365, grant management platforms, and donor software)

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
