Job Description
Working under the direction of the Executive Associate AD/Chief of Staff and the Head Coach, serve as key team member of the football management team in organizing, planning, managing, and supervising services for the Tennessee State University football program. Function as a leader in the coordination of the Following:
Responsibilities as Executive Director of Football Operations:
- Day-to-Day football operations oversight
- Direct supervision of full-time, temporary, student-assistant, and graduate assistant personnel as assigned.
- Budget oversight related to the execution and processing of football related purchases
- Budget oversight of scholarship allotment and distribution
- Compliance as it relates to NCAA and OVC rules (CARA, Scheduling, etc.)
- Facilities and Practice Locations reservation and set-up
- Organize, and contract all aspects of Team Logistics (Transportation, lodging, and meals)
- Organize Team Yearly Calendars
- Organize Player Weekly Schedules
- Summer Camp Director
- Coordinate New Hires through the on-boarding process after approved by Head Coach and Executive Associate AD/Chief of Staff
- Organize and Distribute Credentials for all football events
- Football Research and Development
- Roster management with the Director of Recruiting
- Monitor and Distribute Materials to Yearly Letter Winners
- Football Specific Liaison to: Housing, Dining Hall, Financial Aid, Bursar, Compliance, Academics, Training Room, Equipment Room, Officials, Business Office, Strategic Initiatives, Marketing, and Communications
- AFCA Membership Management
- Coordinate Summer Job opportunities for Players in connection with our BECOMING program
- Attendance at Team Meetings, Workouts, Practices, and Competitions
- Special Projects
- Coordinate all Official Visits through our normal procurement process, working with the Director of Recruiting to complete
Minimum Qualifications
This position is recognized by clients and colleagues as having authority and accountability when responding to inquiries, resolving complex issues, or committing football departmental resources. This position is responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing all contracts and logistics associated with all football activities and supervising, and evaluating performance of staff and ensuring completion of all project activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in college athletics
- Experience using ARMS and TeamWorks software
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite Platforms
