The Facilities Assistant is responsible for the general maintenance and day to day operations throughout the agency.
This position is responsible for observing policies, procedures, and safeguards to protect the privacy of health information in compliance with the HIPAA Privacy (Privacy Rule).
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Assist Facilities Manager by providing administrative support to agency staff
- Responsible for general building maintenance and repairs throughout the agency
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic building, equipment repairs
- Responsible for ground maintenance (i.e. landscaping, snow removal, etc.)
- Occasionally transports, via private or agency vehicle, clients to/from home, school, the agency, and community settings as it is part of their treatment program.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: High school graduation or GED. Must have one (1) year experience in general building maintenance and/or operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff, contractors, and to work effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to operate computers and utilize word and outlook.
- Knowledge and understanding all agency protocol, policy, procedure, plans program requirements.
- Ability to communicate verbally, both in person and over the telephone.
- Ability to read, speak and write in English.
- Ability to pass a State and FBI background check in accordance with the State of Alaska Background Checking Unit.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy items, twist and bend; must have visual and hearing acuity; ability to operate general office equipment.
Working Conditions: Work is performed across agency sites in Anchorage and Wasilla.
Other Requirements: Continual proof of a valid Alaska Driver's License, maintain current personal vehicle insurance and registration on personal vehicle used for company business, maintain a violation free driving record for the past 1 year, maintain satisfactory criminal background record, and be at least 21 years old due to driving on company business.
