Job Title: Full-Time Flooring Sales Associate

We are looking for an additional sales associate to join our team at Floor & Home Carpet One to assist our customers with their flooring needs. A Day in the Life as a Sales Associate:

We value our sales team as the face of the company. The primary duty of a Flooring Sales Associate includes greeting our guests and consulting with them on their flooring needs based on their lifestyle, ideas, and budget. Other duties include scheduling in-home measurements and scheduling installation. Some customer projects are small remodels, while others are much larger and involve blueprints and quotes. While it is a fast-paced environment where good communication skills are very important, it is also rewarding, as many of our associates build positive long-term relationships with our customers through the process of helping them achieve the home of their dreams. Other responsibilities include answering customer inquiries via the phone, maintaining store displays and appearance, ongoing training and education, and preparing the store for sales events.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

Ideal candidates are energetic and friendly with excellent communication and customer service skills and a willingness to learn. While previous sales experience can be valuable, it is not required. With many different flooring styles, colors, brands, and budget options, we offer personal hands-on training to help you succeed and grow by teaching you appropriate sales techniques and knowledge. Other qualifications include:

• Assisting customers in selection, design and purchase of their desired products
• Goal-Oriented
• High school graduate, or equivalent
• Ability to work a fixed schedule including days, evenings, Saturdays and holidays.
• Pleasant, considerate and polite manners when dealing with co-workers and with customers
• Basic reading, math, writing and communication skills
• A commitment to professional ethical standards
• Good driving record

Compensation and Benefits:

Our sales pay is structured so that if you sell at the national average, you can expect to earn $50,000+ per year. Benefits include:

Schedule:

Our store is open Monday – Saturday from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

• 8+ Hour Shifts
• Saturdays
• Holidays except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day
• 2 Days off per Week including Every Sunday Off

Work Location:

You will work on our sales floor at Floor & Home Carpet One location on 2222 Mt. Rushmore Rd, Rapid City, SD. Measurement and estimating at customer homes is often needed, and a company vehicle is available for those visits.
