Our Apprenticeship Program combines on the job training with related instruction at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; it provides a genuine alternative to a traditional college experience and the foundation for a career in Foundry. It offers the training, guidance, and support you need to develop valuable skills, earn sought-after qualifications and establish yourself in your chosen career. You will start in a 1 year program and if successful, will be invited to complete an additional two years.

In partnership with the US Department of Labor and Industry and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, our Apprenticeship Program lasts three years and enables you to earn a nationally recognized Certificate of Completion and obtain a Journey Worker card.
Essential Job Functions
- Comply with all safety rules and company standards (e.g. Health, Safety, Environment, Rolls-Royce Quality Management System, and Rolls-Royce Production System).
- Perform all required quality checks and maintain lot and serial traceability changes.
- Perform molding, metal pouring, and shake out of a variety of castings. Operate the furnaces.
- Demonstrate proper movement and set up of propellers, propeller blades, water jets, fixtures, patterns and castings.
- Operate a variety of foundry equipment including sand mixers, vibrators, and riser saws.
- Follow production plans in order to meet customer requirements.
- Operate with high standards of professionalism and team work.
- Successful completion of related instruction and on-the-job training
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in process improvement activities in order to satisfy customer needs and cost reduction targets.
- Notify supervision as needed, of tooling, material or environment needs. Safely operate cranes, fork lifts, grinders and other material handling equipment to move or re-position components.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move equipment of varying weights, with a minimum of 15 pounds.
- Must have the ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat and kneel to perform job responsibilities.
- Must be able to manipulate and operate measurement tooling, machine controls, parts and equipment to perform job duties and responsibilities.
- Must have the ability to read job instructions, sketches and equipment screens
- Must have the ability to respond to all workplace safety requirements

Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED with a minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection.
- Basic personal computer proficiency (word processing, internet, e-mail, electronic data retrieval).
- In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD Confidential Security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. The security clearance is required prior to the start of employment.
Preferred Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Ability to properly utilize precision measuring equipment
