Left Field Labs is seeking a talented Front-end Developer to join our remote team. You will work alongside a group of dedicated and multi-disciplined technologists and designers to bring high quality solutions to market. We count on our developers to write elegant and well-documented code, with a strict eye towards separation of concerns and maintainability. Our developers are creatives, we expect an eye for design, collaboration on interactions, and understanding of overall user experience when building our software.

What You’ll Do

  • Building and maintaining frontend code for multiple websites for one of our large clients. This means writing frontend code using a variety of web technologies, as well as other development tasks like documentation and taking part in code reviews
  • Being an active part of a small team that includes developers, designers and a producer all staying in touch over chat, video calls, and git pull requests
  • Learning new and existing technologies, both on your own and from more experienced developers on the team
  • Contribute to documentation on projects (such as Technical Design Documents) and for department knowledge sharing
  • Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned

What You’ll Need to be Successful

  • 4 years of experience writing HTML, CSS and vanilla Javascript for production-ready websites, along with some experience using modern Javascript frameworks like React, Preact, Angular, Vue, Svelte or similar
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of working with of animation software and tools (ThreeJS, PixiJS, WebGL, etc)
  • Proven ability in implementing Canvas and CSS3 based animations, transitions, and behaviors
  • Proven experience with touchscreen, cross-browser compatibility, responsive layouts, and accessibility/wcag standards
  • Proven experience with templating engines like Jinja, Mustache, Handlebars, Pug, etc
  • UI design and interactions for web applications
  • Creating responsive front-end using CSS tools like tailwind, flexbox and grid
  • Know your way around Git, the Mac/Linux command line, and npm
  • Working collaboratively on a development team using tools like JIRA, Asana and Git
  • Open minded with a strong interest in learning and using web technology
  • Self-starter who values collaboration, communication and is ready to work on a great team

  • Python especially Flask and Django
  • Webpack, Rollup, Gulp or Grunt
