Gardener (Boston/ Metro West)

The Gardener position is a great opportunity to assume a role in our Garden Team. It is ideally suited for any trained horticulturist who has a strong foundation in garden and seasonal flower maintenance with a firm understanding of production principles, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. The Garden team works closely with the Garden Manager and production team implementing progressive and sound garden strategies as well as training their team.

Specifically, this is a wonderful opportunity for a horticulturist who wants to be a

part of the garden team and to do the following:

• Work closely with the client and garden manager to create property aesthetic and horticultural goals
• Work closely with Garden Manager to integrate and create garden and container designs
• Maintenance of ornamental and vegetable gardens and container plantings
• Train and empower gardeners to become lead gardeners
• Work alongside the garden manager to ensure processes and procedures are adhered to
• Working knowledge of plant pathology and ability to identify pest and disease in ornamentals
• Use of progressive garden methodology and treatment including organics and sustainable ideology

Due to the breadth of our portfolio and our highly collaborative environment any candidate for this position will need the following to excel in this role:

• A minimum of two-three years experience successfully managing a garden crew
• Two-Three years in horticulture related field/industry
• The ability to use technology to communicate with team members and clients
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions
• Comfortable working in fast paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
