The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA) is seeking to hire a number of faculty at all career levels with clinical and research interests to compliment the existing faculty and expand the division as we grow our program and advance the tripartite mission of clinical care, research, and medical education. For the individual candidate, the balance of clinical and academic effort will depend upon interests, experience, and the ability/promise to secure external funding. Candidates must also be eligible for licensure by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiner, for certification by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, and for credentials with UT Medicine San Antonio and University Hospital.

In addition to strong clinical cardiology skills, specific areas of expertise are sought:

Prevention, lipids, hypertension

Epidemiology/outcomes research

Cardiovascular imaging

Heart Failure

Cardio-oncology

Consultative cardiology

Critical care

Genetics

The ideal candidate will provide excellent clinical care and develop a clinical and/or research niche in one of the areas above and also contribute to the education of our cardiology fellows.
