THE OPPORTUNITY:We are seeking experienced Journeyman Glaziers to join our award-winning company! We offer a great team environment, interesting and challenging projects to work on, excellent compensation, benefits, training, and career advancement opportunities.
As a Journeyman Glazier with Steel Encounters, you will skillfully install metal panels, entrances and hardware, windows, Curtainwall, storefront, and glass in a professional and quality manner as directed by the foreman and with the use of manufacturer's installation instructions, shop drawings and the architect's documents. Journeymen have the overall knowledge of the use of tools, fasteners, and equipment to install these products. Some regional travel may be requested with compensation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of five years' experience in the commercial exterior glass/panel installation (glazing) industry
- Understanding of OSHA safety regulations and glazing codes
- Ability to read and comprehend shop drawings, installation instructions, and construction documents
- Solid math skills are a plus
- Understanding of personal safety on a construction site
- Ability to work from heights and elevated platforms
- Ability to lift 75-100 lbs. on occasion
- Perform essential duties efficiently and safely with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to learn and become a professional glass installation tradesman
- Collaborate effectively with company and project team
- Responsible and professional in approach to work
- Show pride in your work by focusing on the details, ensuring work is done correctly and completely
- Show initiative and take accountability for the outcome of decisions
- Show good judgment in decision making
- Compensation: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour (based on experience)
