Sigvaris is currently looking for a Head Knitting Technician to join our team in Peachtree City, GA. As a leading compression solution provider, we are not just a company that manufactures products. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, the Head Knitting Technician is responsible to program and maintain circular knitting machines to ensure maximum utilization of machines and first quality products are produced to company specifications.

SHIFT:

• 1st: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoots major knitting machine problems and fine tunes programming for maximum machine efficiency.
• Provides training and acts as a technical resource for the knitting department personnel.
• Installs new knitting machinery, software and equipment.
• Ensures the successful implementation of all new production launches in the knitting department.
• Ensures all work instructions, forms and procedures are being followed.
• Updates all work instructions, forms, and procedures as needed in coordination with Quality Assurance and Knitting Supervisor.
• Works with Quality Assurance to resolve any quality issues and concerns.
• Utilizes available reports to diagnose, repair and enhance machines or equipment not performing to standard.
• Fills in for the Knitting Technician as needed.
• Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.

• Demonstrates effective communication methods.

o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer.

• Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, 6S and Lean Manufacturing, and Federal, State and local laws.
• Assists with the implementation of Lean/Kaizen initiatives or events in the department.
• Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.
• Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.

EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE:

• A two-year degree or Certificate in mechanical/industrial/electrical field or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of ten to fifteen years of experience working on high speed circular knitting machines in a hosiery/sock facility preferred.
• Knowledge of Graph 5/6 software for the design and building of programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
