Purpose of Position:
The Human Resources (HR) Manager will assist the Director of Human Resources in new hire onboarding, internal training programs, employee relations, reporting and analytics, and various administrative tasks. They will demonstrate conflict management, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills. This position will be comfortable managing complex employee related issues, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests
- Manage employee records in the HRIS
- Guide leadership in employee development and performance management
- Create and conduct employee training sessions and seminars
- Perform new hire orientations and background checks, and update new hire records
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
- Coach managers through employee relation issues, including disciplinary action, employee coaching, conflict resolutions and terminations Develop organizational guidelines and procedures
- Investigate employee relations issues and advise leadership on best practices
- Interpret complex labor laws, advise management ensuring compliance with applicable laws
- Participate in audits as required
- Manage recruiting at the store level
- Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Labor Law and regulations
- Effective HR administration and people management skills
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools
- Ability to be objective and calm during stressful situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to accurately follow instructions
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
SHRM or PHR Certification preferred.
Travel Requirements:
This position may require some travel.
