Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Ensure shift personnel are safe, adhere to PPE requirements, follow safety policies, complete assigned tasks in a safe manner.
2. Manage IQMS downtime coding, end of shift reporting, line clearances, cycle counts, updating jobs, resolving disposition errors.
3. Adhere to schedule reading IQMS including priority notes. Schedule indirect labor to complete shutdown, changeover, startup of jobs.
4. Monitor IQMS real-time maintaining proper cycle times and responding quickly to presses going down.
5. Schedule direct labor based on IQMS requirements to include proper operator certification levels.
6. Enforce worker compliance with all work instructions, TWI’s, PAT’s, procedures, employee handbook, molding shutdown and startup checklist, process discipline, and time and attendance policy.
7. Communicate using written end of shift reports, conducting 3-Point Control meeting, reading communications book, verbal communication with managers.
8. Responsible for the security and operation of the plant during shift hours including 5S, cleanliness, and proper plant shutdown and startup operations.
9. Maintain process control to include adherence to approved process, completion of PML’s once per shift, recording process changes on change log, turning on press monitor alarms for pink PML presses.
10. Ensure part quality is maintained based on PPAP parts, last and 1st shots, IPIS inspections, and auditor determinations.
11. Perform basic process troubleshooting and problem solving.
12. Ensure timecards in ADP are completed accurately and timely.
13. Monitor key accountabilities and provide plant manager actions items to improve all below goal or standard, on a monthly basis.
Qualifications:
Education and experience required for the role.
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year College or university.
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience within the plastics industry.
3. 5+ years Management experience in injection molding.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibilities over all personnel on the 3rd shift.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily working in a manufacturing environment.
- May stand for long periods of time.
- Prolonged exposure a hot climate in the summer months.
- May be exposed to loud noises.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member is frequently required to walk and sit. The team member is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch, and taste or smell. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
