School Summary: TEC Connections Academy Commonwealth Virtual School (TECCA) is a tuition-free virtual public school district that employs over 200 faculty and staff, serving our diverse population of approximately 3,000 students in Grades K12 from cities and towns across Massachusetts.TECCA is looking for an Interim Assistant Principal for our Middle School for a Leave of Absence beginning July 10, 2023 through January 8, 2024.Position and Responsibilities: Supervise and evaluate instructional and non-instructional staff members as assigned by the Middle School PrincipalAssists in preparing and implementing the school budgetAssists in developing school LiveLesson scheduleAssists in recruitment, screening, hiring, training, and assigning of department personnel according to district proceduresSupervises and contributes to evaluation of Middle school Family Engagement CoordinatorOrganizes and supports enrollment procedures in advance of the start of school and during school yearDevelops and updates IA Guide for middle school staffEstablishes and maintains the middle schools master calendarResponds to instances of student misconduct, including communication with staff and caretakersSupports planning of field trips and other student activities and eventsCoordinates student assembliesOrganizes and supports substitute teachersAttends Middle School Leadership Team meetingsAssist teachers in developing and maintaining effective and engaging teaching methods in a virtual environmentDevelop innovative engagement strategies, preventative approaches, and proactive plans for students who exhibit at-risk behaviors or a lack of engagement in school Provide direct supervision of school-based events and programsRespond to all Caretaker, Learning Coach, and student inquiries within 24 hours, including WebMails, GMails, and phone calls in a timely mannerPerforms other duties as assigned by the Middle School Principal
