Summary

Fabricate, install and refurbish aircraft interior equipment and furnishings per work order or customer request. This may include items such as carpeting, finishing and upholstery on seats, card tables, side panels, glare shield, aircraft cabinets, card tables and side panels.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hanger positions)
• Comply with environmental health / safety policies / procedures in a safe and timely manner. Participate in 5-S activities.
• Fabricate / install / refurbish / modify / repair aircraft interior equipment and furnishings per work order or customer request. Work with high-grade leather materials from blueprints, drawings and other illustrations or written work instructions
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
• Perform mechanical / electrical removals and installations of all seats, sidewalls, TV’s, appliances, galleys, lavatories, etc., into refurbished or green completion aircrafts in accordance with the instruction of the Crew Leader, as well as, any/all governing body's regulations, as well as aircraft interior disassembly, modification, and assessing repairs, removals, and installations
• Perform complex repairs in aircraft interior fabrication, cabinet shop and refurbish aircraft seats, divans, sidewalls and associated components, including the re-upholstery of panels, liners and sidewalls, to high degrees of finish quality and structural safety.
• Perform sewing, pattern and foam build-up tasks as needed.Plan, prepare and cut materials to standardized patterns for stitching and fitting to customer and engineered requirements
• Develop new processes to reduce man-hours / material waste
• Perform final inspection for quality defects and repair
• Train other employees in performing their work as needed

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

• You must have minimum of 5+ years of experience interiors experience (i.e. previous wood finish and soft goods experience (i.e., auto, RV, boat, etc) with minimal supervision
• You must have the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
• You must have the ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, safely and with care and precision
• You have Diploma qualification and relevant trades' qualification
• You have basic knowledge of a variety of computer software programs (i.e. SAP, AMS, Pivotal and Microsoft Office)

• You have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
• You have high attention to detail for the purposes of appearance, ergonomics, and safety
• You have proven technical and mathematical aptitude, as well as the ability to make accurate measurements and finish materials to a high level of quality and precision
