HEAD START (Barstow Elementary School) and
JUDY HOYER CENTER (Patuxent Appeal Elementary Campus)
POSITION: INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANTS
(Preference Given to Prior Head Start/Judy Hoyer Center Experience)
CCPS expects to have grant vacancies at PAC and BAES for a summer school program (June 26-July 27, Monday Thru Thursday). This will be a half day morning program only.
General Information
- Judy Center / Head Start summer school will take place at BAES and PAC and ALL instruction will be in-person.
- Judy Center / Head Start summer school for staff will begin on June 21 and 22 for PD and set up and run through July 27, 2023. Summer school staff will work 4.5 hour per day, Monday through Thursday.
- Judy Center / Head Start summer school for students will begin on June 26, 2023 and run through July 27, 2023. The student day will be approximately 3.5 hours, Monday through Thursday.
- Instruction will occur in the areas of Social Emotional Learning, Integrated Language Arts, Mathematics and Enrichment.
- Staff will be required to attend:
- 6 hour pre-service day (June 21, 2023)
- 5 hour pre-service day (June 22, 2023)
- Salary as per Workshop Pay Memo
- Position availability and work location is contingent on student enrollment.
- Employee reports to Program Coordinators and/or Supervisor
- Positions remain open until filled.

References must be directly related to educational experience and must include immediate supervisor.
State law requires that anyone hired after October 1, 1986, who will have contact with school children, must be fingerprinted and submit to a criminal background investigation. Federal law requires that a new employee must complete the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) in person before beginning employment. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a drug screen. Current employees of the Calvert County Public Schools are exempt from these requirements.
