Job Summary
As a Junior Underwriter at Integrated Specialty Coverages, you are responsible for proofing material received on a submission, working with the underwriters on making any necessary revisions and using multiple databases to verify data, and answering phones and connecting customers with team members to ensure a positive experience with Integrated Specialty Coverages. You will also take on Junior Underwriting tasks including application and endorsement review and processing.
Position Responsibilities
- Proofing all insurance application materials by visually reviewing documents to check for errors or omissions
- Working closely with the underwriting team to finalize insurance applications by opening up communication via instant message, email or verbal conversation
- Perform file reviews on upcoming renewals to identify any changes in the risk profile that may need underwriting attention
- Assist with developing new business underwriting files
- Using multiple databases to find required data
- Answering phones and connecting customers and team members to ensure a positive experience with SIS
- Answering chat requests from customers and providing assistance
- Process accounts approved accounts from approved quote through policy issuance
- Handle Rush Process requests
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time 5-day work week position, reporting in-office.

Pay and Benefits
The starting pay scale for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 hourly. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits.
