Lewiston School DepartmentJob DescriptionPosition Title: K-12 Day Treatment AdministratorDepartment: Special Education DepartmentReports To: District Clinical SupervisorPrepared By: Human Resources Department Date: February 13, 2023Approved By: Superintendent of Schools Date: February 13, 2023SUMMARYThe K-12 Day Treatment Administrator is a daily presence in the Day Treatment Programs in multiple buildings. The K-12 Day Treatment Administrator will provide direction, guidance, and leadership to all staff in the Day Treatment Program in all buildings and will work closely with the District-wide Clinical Supervisor to address the needs of the program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitates team meetings, including All Team/Program, Teacher/Clinician meetings, including complete agenda and taking notes in a shared folder, and facilitates discussion.Serves as supervisor and evaluator of program BHPs.Works with the District Clinical Supervisor (DCS) as hiring manager in hiring of BHPs and teachers.Regularly rotates through classroom debriefings, classroom meetings, teacher/clinician pairings, and consultations to provide support and ensure compliance with program norms and expectations. Day Treatment Admin will provide in the moment coaching as needed to classroom staff.Oversees and monitors BHP billing, ensuring compliance with billing expectations.Manages daily staffing needs and schedules, including assigning float, first point of contact for classroom issuesThe first point of contact for concerns, including crisis management with consultation from Clinicians.Consults with the DCS on any clinical issues/concerns through regular meetings with the DCS.Provides immediate feedback/direction in crisis situations as needed, consulting with the DCS as appropriate. The Day Treatment Admin will be integral in the programs goal of reducing incidents of restraint and seclusions.Finalizes the IEPs of the program students.Assists in decision-making regarding transitions out of the program.Provides feedback to administrators regarding the DT Program.Provides curriculum oversight and consultation for the teaching staff in curriculum meetings with the DT teachers and coaches.Assists with bus scheduling and the daily schedule for the day treatment classrooms.Ensures program fidelity and all program components are implemented consistently with the DCS.Facilitates IEP Meetings and assures that IDEA compliance is maintained as well as insure MaineCare language for IEPs.Responsible for maintaining and enforcing FERPA.Performs all professional responsibilities required of her/his position.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide supervision and evaluation of SPED teachers and BHPs with building administration.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Existing knowledge of behavioral interventions and strategies and capable of sharing this knowledge to stakeholders.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
