The Labor Relations Negotiator acts as chief or lead negotiator for collective bargaining negotiations; assists in maintaining satisfactory labor-management relations, interprets collective bargaining agreements, assists in grievance procedures, and assists/advises all operational levels on labor matters.

Experience :
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in as a lead/chief negotiator
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience preferred but not required.

The Labor Relations Negotiator acts as chief or lead negotiator for collective bargaining negotiations; assists in maintaining satisfactory labor-management relations, interprets collective bargaining agreements, assists in grievance procedures, and assists/advises all operational levels on labor matters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Assists national company chief spokesperson in labor negotiations or serves as chief spokesperson in collective bargaining negotiations.
- May direct development and implementation of labor and employee relations training
- Advises operational staff on labor and employee relations issues and strategies.
- Provides direction and guidance to operational staff on collective bargaining agreements.
- May act as a liaison with federal mediation officials.
- Conducts research, analysis and development of labor relation contract proposals and settlements
- Recommends to National Vice President of Labor Relations economic guidelines for settlements of negotiations.
- Develops and manages negotiating positions and strategies.
- Monitors trends in the company and nationally on labor issues.
- Coordinate and monitors union free activities and strike preparedness planning.
- May provide direction to respective staff engaged in investigations, corrective actions, and employee applicant grievances
- Prepares and presents required and special reports.
- Maintain labor relations database to include CBA's.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone's responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience :
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in as a lead/chief negotiator
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience preferred but not required.
Education :
- Four-year degree preferred. May substitute equivalent work experience.
Skills:
- Familiar with a variety of labor relations concepts, practices and procedures.
- Specialized knowledge of labor relations and demonstrated negotiation skills.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- May lead or direct the work of others.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Ability to work remote and travel within the United States as needed, up to 85% of the time
- Well-developed management skills.
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
