DESCRIPTION
The Independent Living Donor Advocate's (ILDA) role is independent from the abdominal transplant programs and reports to the transplant social work supervisor. The role of the ILDA is to represent and advise living donor candidates, promote the interests of living donor candidates and ensure the rights of prospective living donors during the pre, peri-operative and post-donation periods. The ILDA will ensure the donor's decision is informed and free from coercion.
Depending on the experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at a Clinical Social Worker II or Clinical Social Worker III level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree in social work from an accredited school.
At least two (2) years of post MSW experience. In order to be considered for the Clinical Social Worker III, must have at least three years of post MSW experience and be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Must possess the knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

Must have proven independent thinking, decision making, problem-solving and prioritizing skills.
Excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - issued by the state of California.
- Experience in Neurobehavioral Medicine, Psychiatry counseling, Family Medicine, Addiction treatment, Addiction counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Knowledge of living organ donation, transplantation, medical ethics and informed consent.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
- Prior experience working in a hospital setting.
- Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient hospital setting.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Able to travel to any UCSD or affiliate clinic/hospital location.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $90,137 - $118,745 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $43.17 - $56.87
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
